Tuesday 14th June 2011 States Lagoon

Venue: States Lagoon Hardwick -- Island Spur Swim

Target Spices: Carp Bream
Reported By MJA
Attendee: Martin (loner) Allen

Decided to try my luck again ,at the same swim as previous , arrived well before Dawn 3.20am , she was late again.
Spodded out half bucket of mix: got the rods out by 4.30am. Hook bait, 1/2 trout pellet glued on to a
10mm white boillie .
4.45am , right hand alarm went off , reel screaming , o.k., good start nice Bream 6lb + in the net , but before I could unhook it , left hand alarm , reel screaming , struck into fish , but had to let the fish play it's self ,while I unhooked it's mate . Put Bream into sack , picked up second rod , good fish still on, happy days.
Landed another Bream 5lb (photos to come). I'm in here I thought could be a bumper day!
Unfortunately that was it .... :(
Like Bents lake Carp were on a sporning mission hundreds of them swimming up and down all day in a line .

Not interested in feeding. Lets hope next week they are starving, I usually am after Sporning.
Tried the back leads on the line , they work o.k., but rod tips need to be closer to the bank ,to put them on easier.
So for me today was 2 x Bream.
Next day I purchased a nice new spinning rod and reel, try for the big Perch in Hardwick Park lake.
Wednesday evening 5.30pm used a minnow plug  and first cast. ...

Not massive but it was the target fish , and in great condition. No big Perch today but keep hoping
Thursday evening 16th June , tried my luck for Perch again ,went through all the lures in the  box and finally caught small Jack Pike on spinner
At least I had to use my landing net on this one

Sorry that's all to report Folks .... Tight Lines
